Weddings are such beautiful celebrations, and those celebrations deserve the perfect setting! Whether a couple is looking for a laid-back casual beach wedding or a black tie evening at a museum, there are hidden gems all over Virginia when it comes to finding the perfect spot to host family and friends on one of the most important days of a couple's life.

FOR THE MUSEUM COUPLE: Hermitage Museum and Garden, Norfolk, VA

The Hermitage Museum and Gardens in Norfolk is a personal favorite – it represents the true historical beauty of coastal Virginia. From historic house to museum in 1942, the Hermitage has a waterfront backdrop, a giant magnolia tree for portrait time, and sweet little grottos. It is a well-loved outdoor venue for the couple who wants a timeless wedding with a view.

FOR THE BEACH COUPLE: Virginia Beach Oceanfront, Virginia Beach, VA

Miles of sand and shoreline makes any spot the best one down at the Oceanfront. While not required, I highly recommend getting a permit so you can have an area sectioned off for a limited time, just for you!

FOR THE BARN COUPLE: Silverbrook Farm, Purcellsville, VA

I asked one of my wedding planner friends to share one of her favorite barn wedding locations here in Virginia because there are just so many amazing options, and I wanted to find a truly hidden gem for the couple who loves all things rustic with true comfort charm, so I'm going to hand it over to Antonia of Antonia Christianson Events for this one!

"Dating back to the 1700's, Silverbrook Farm in Purcelleville is absolutely charming. It is actually a B&B and reception venue owned by the sweetest woman named Dot. Generations of Dot's family have actually lived in the B&B part of the property, and as the family grew, they added onto the house. Now other families get to enjoy the gorgeous views, history, and stories that were kept private for so many years."

FOR THE GARDEN COUPLE: Norfolk Botanical Garden, Norfolk, VA

Source: Tidewater and Tulle Flowers and greenery for days, Norfolk Botanical Garden in Norfolk is the quintessential setting for Southern romance amongst the blooms. No matter the time of year, its impeccably pruned and cared for gardens are beautiful... though spring is definitely when it shines when it comes to the popular Rose Gardens. NBG's Renaissance Court is one of my personal favorites for a ceremony. For the classic couple with a dream of botanical elegance, this is the spot!

FOR THE ESTATE COUPLE: Historic Mankin Mansion, Richmond, VA

Source: Tidewater and Tulle One of my favorite things about Virginia is that there is no shortage of historical landmarks. Just outside of Richmond, Mankin Mansion is a beautiful example of brickwork artistry from the early 1900's. The original home was built for Edward Thurston Mankin, the founder and owner of one of the South's most highly regarded brick foundries. With roaming gardens and indoor and outdoor wedding options, the architecture and history alone make this place ideal for the couple who wants to build upon the past for their future together!

FOR THE SEASIDE COUPLE: Oyster Farm at Kings Creek, Cape Charles, VA

Tucked away on the Eastern Shore, The Oyster Farm at Kings Creek in Cape Charles immediately greets you with bright cheerful colors of their marina and event buildings. For a nautical destination to invite loved ones from all over, Oyster Farm hosts beautiful oceanviews, local water and land activities, restaurant, and on-site lodging making it the perfect nook for a wedding weekend getaway.
