When you’re asking friends to be your bridesmaids, give them custom photo boxes documenting the friendship you share.
The Project: Bridesmaids Photo Boxes Level: Intermediate Timeline: 6 to 9 months out, so You’ll have plenty of time to wander down memory lane while sorting through old photos
Materials: Photos Computer scanner/ printer Photo paper Craft knife Poster board Glue gun and sticks Gift boxes Ribbon
1. Photo hunt. Collect images of yourself with each bridesmaid. Scan them on the computer, and resize photos ¼-inch smaller on each side than the gift box. Print images onto photo paper, and cut out with a craft knife.
2. Make the accordion folds. Cut a large piece of poster board into strips that are the same width as the inner part of the gift box. Then, place your first image at the edge of the strip to determine where to crease. Next, make your accordion folds. Depending on how many photos are included, you may have to glue two poster strips together.
3. Glue the photos. With the accordion folds outstretched, glue each photo onto every fold. Be sure to let the hot glue dry for at least 5 minutes before folding the strip back together. (Note: Be conservative with the glue to keep your folded images from getting too bulky.)
4. Wrap it up. Fold and place the photo chain in the box. Tie the box with a pretty coordinating ribbon.
