Recipe: No-Cook Tomato Sauce
No stove? No problem! (Besides, in the warm embrace of summer’s sweltering heat it’s nice to cook sans stove, anyway.) This tomato sauce takes the freshest ingredients and brings a colorful, crisp flavor to your Italian meal. Best of all, it only takes a few minutes and a handful of items to assemble. Be sure to pick up some tomatoes from your local farmers' market to get the freshest, sweetest bunch you can find. After making your batch, refrigerate before serving and then add cracked black pepper, basil, and some cheese like Parmesan over a heaping plate of pasta. In addition to being a match made in Heaven for a pile of hot spaghetti, fettuccini, or ziti, it also works wonderfully spread onto toasted bread for bruschetta.
