A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of visiting Richmond's very own boutique hotel, Quirk Hotel. Ted and Katie Ukrop opened the doors of Quirk Hotel in the fall of 2015, located on Broad Street in downtown Richmond's thriving arts district. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by beautiful smiles and the friendliest staff. Once inside I began to do a lot of "oohing" and "ahhing," and trust me, you will too! The hotel is housed inside a 1916 luxury department store and the décor is absolutely beautiful. The ceilings are 13 feet tall, the floors are the original maple floors and the space is connected to the Quirk Gallery, an art space directed by Katie Ukrop. Every little unexpected detail is so unique and totally "quirky" – I love it!

I'm excited to share a few fun facts about Quirk Hotel that will truly make you want to be a guest while visiting the city. If you live in Richmond, it's the perfect place for an overnight stay for a special occasion.

Each guest room is pink and each floor has a unique papier-mâché portrait that greets you as you get off the elevator. Quirk Hotel also has its own custom blend coffee and I must warn you that the packaging is so pretty you almost don't want to open it. The items in the gift shop are handpicked by owners, Katie and Ted, they range from custom jewelry, perfume, note cards and more. The roof top lounge and bar is great for hosting an intimate wedding or event or meeting up with friends and co-workers after work. After my tour of the hotel, I enjoyed lunch with friends and I have to say – the food is amazing.

During your stay at Quirk Hotel, make sure you take advantage of all that the city of Richmond has to offer from making a visit to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, taking the family to Byrd Park, or perhaps getting tickets to a show at Altria Theater.

I couldn't leave such a beautiful hotel as Quirk without doing a mini photo shoot and the large arrangement of pink peonies I put together were the perfect floral element for the hotel's décor.

Quirk Hotel truly brings an amazing energy to downtown. Can you tell that I had a wonderful time on my visit? Read more about Quirk Hotel here.
