Recently, a friend and I explored the quaint town of Leesburg, Virginia. I grew up visiting Leesburg on the weekends with my family because my dad owned some property "in the country", as it used to be called. We would hop in the car and make the hour drive to enjoy the fresh air, but now Leesburg is a popular destination for food, wine, craft beer, antiquing and history.

Leesburg is a great destination if you are looking to enjoy a girls' day out to enjoy shopping and a lovely lunch. With the weather warming up, a friend and I headed out to Leesburg for a little sun, good food and great shopping. We ate at the adorable little café called Shoe's Cup + Cork where their menu focuses on sustainable and local products, including Virginia beer and wines. Every time I eat here I am amazed and today was no different. My favorite item was the homemade truffle french fries.

After lunch we swung by Lightfoot Side Café where they have the most scrumptious desserts! We had a to-die-for lemon bar and chocolate chip cookie. Lightfoot Restaurant is an amazing space in an old bank. If you are looking for a nice evening out filled with charm and fantastic food you must visit this gorgeous restaurant.

After getting fueled up it was time to hit the brick lined streets to shop and try and burn off some of those truffle fries. There is a wide variety of shopping in downtown Leesburg – everything from clothes to antiques. King Street is the main drag, but there is so much to be seen on the side streets as well. I always love to check out the vintage shops. One of my favorites is The Cottage where they have a lovely assortment of vintage furniture, gifts and home décor. I never leave empty handed. A few of my other "must go" shops are Very Virginia Shop, Sugar Magnolia Boutique and Leesburg Antique Emporium.
