Your blissful Disney vacation may start a touch sooner than the gates to Magic Kingdom. No, not that first blissful moment when you plop onto your hotel bed. Try the airport.

Yes, you read that right. According to a new survey from J.D. Power, Orlando International Airport ranks highest in satisfaction among "mega airports," with a score of 778 (on an 1,000-point scale). Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport came in second (767) and McCarran International Airport (765) in Las Vegas ranks third.

For the "large airports" category," John Wayne Airport (796) in Orange County, California secured the top spot. But two Southern airports trailed close behind—Tampa International Airport (795) and Dallas Love Field (790). No Southern airports made the top three for the "medium airports" category.

Meanwhile, the survey also reported that overall traveler satisfaction at airports has hit an all-time high. The overall customer satisfaction score came in at 749, an 18-point improvement from last year's all-time high.

The survey is based on responses from nearly 35,000 North American travelers who traveled to and from at least one domestic airport within three months of taking the survey. We'll toast to that happy news from MCO, food court Chick-fil-A in hand.
