Stylish South Carolina ladies come here for runway favorites ranging from Tibi dresses ($400) to showstopping necklaces from boho-rocker line Dannijo. Melissa Blanchard and her staff are pros at helping shoppers build dream wardrobes.

Dapper men travel from far and wide to meet Brittons' king of bow ties, Mr. Lucky Levinson. (His video on how to tie a bow tie has received more than 2 million hits on YouTube.) Lucky's tie-tying reputation is just part of the family-owned store's storied history that goes back to 1946. This summer the shop finished an expansion to better accommodate its growing stock of custom-made suits, Southern Tide sportswear, and Carolina-made R. Hanauer bow ties ($50), as well as Armani frocks for ladies.

K.D.'s Treehouse
This children's shop carries organic and fair-trade clothing and toys for newborns to 8 year olds. We love the backpacks ($42-$56, depending on size)—embroidered with ladybugs, owls, and robots—great for kids to fill with books and school supplies.

Vanjean's sister boutique, Pout, offers skin-care products and services that match the clothier's high level of designer luxury. Drop in for a one-hour custom facial from the in-house aesthetician, and keep the glow going with NARS lipsticks and a Chantecaille palette ($79).

This is the place to find that perfect housewarming or special anniversary gift. There's everyday china from Arte Italica and more formal tableware from Wedgwood, plus French linens and Alexis Bittar jewelry.

Salty's Board Shop
Devine Street met So-Cal earlier this year with the relocation of Salty's Board Shop—a surf and skate store stocking beach-inspired dresses and tops from brands such as Roxy and Volcom, as well as skater-dude favorites Vans and TOMS.

Pink Sorbet
Get your Lilly fix at the biggest Lilly Pulitzer signature store in South Carolina. Spanning 2,600 square feet, the shop is filled with printed sundresses, shoes, lightweight scarves ($118), and the hottest-selling item for the college set: agendas (starting at $16).

Shopping Break
Burger Tavern 77: You can choose from 77 ingredients such as pecan-wood bacon, mini crab cakes, and 20 house-made sauces (we vote for the apple-cherry chutney!) to create your custom burger. Wash it down with one of the 27 beers on tap served in oversize mugs.

The Hair of the Dog Tavern: Cornhole, bingo, karaoke—there's always something going on at this neighborhood watering hole. 803/834-5144
