The City of Savannah Inspired Rose-Marie Swift’s New Makeup Collection
A Savannah city guide—plus a touch of the town for your beauty bag.
Shimmering sunsets, long strolls through city squares, and tranquil moments spent riverside—Savannah, Georgia, is a city full of unforgettable experiences. When Rose-Marie Swift, founder of the natural makeup and skincare brand RMS Beauty, decided to move to Savannah, she found a city brimming with inspiration.
The inspiration the city provided resulted in the brand-new RMS Savannah Peach Collection, a set of four limited edition pieces that nod to the classic sights and sounds of Savannah. Swift tells Southern Living, “The collection is inspired by Savannah's incomparable, spectacular sunsets set behind the city's hauntingly beautiful parks and historic homes.”
The new collection is a limited edition set that includes four pretty pieces: a multi-tasking eyeliner pencil in a shimmering peach hue, a rosy-toned eyeshadow in the shade “Savannah Sunset," a glow-inducing luminizing powder in the shade “Scarlett Peach,” and an easy-to-wear lipstick in the shade “Monterey,” which lends a natural flush and a subtle sheen. Each piece is made with natural and organic ingredients and is a celebration of the city that inspired them—that’s because, Swift says, “Savannah is an essential experience in every way.”
Essential, indeed: Swift shares with Southern Living a few of her favorite places found in Georgia’s coastal gem. To begin, Swift says, “Some of the Savannah experiences I consider a must are Alex Raskin Antiques, Bonaventure Cemetery, and the SCAD Museum of Art.” For more ideas to inspire your next visit and fill your itinerary, read on for Rose-Marie Swift’s Savannah city guide.
Best brunch spot: “My favorite place for brunch is definitely The Farm in Bluffton. It has such a unique menu and fabulous food. Another spot I love is The Collins Quarter. Who doesn’t like an Australian menu and staff that will always laugh with you?”
Can’t-miss Savannah shop: “My favorite shop is Brighter Day, a natural foods market. This store helped make my final decision to move here, because I am all about clean and healthy food. I also love the Peridot Antiques store. Kevin Johnson, the proprietor, has fabulous eclectic taste.”
Favorite place to take a stroll: “The best place for a long walk is anywhere in the historic district. I can just look up and gaze at the architectural wonder of all the old homes and the beautiful oak trees covered in hanging moss. Walking this city never leaves me bored. For a quiet escape, I like to walk on the paths behind the old Wormsloe Plantation (as long as it’s not during tourist season).”
For dinner and drinks: “My favorite spot for dinner or drinks is Circa 1875, and I also love The Wyld because nothing beats an old beat-up wharf on the marsh with good food.”
