These light and refreshing beer-based drinks are simple to make and can be easily scaled up for a crowd. Whether you’re a fan of margaritas or micheledas, there’s a beer cocktail for everyone. Even beer haters—we swear the Pink Lemonade Cocktail will win anyone over.
Recipe: Beer 'Garitas
Sick of the same old margaritas? Try this fun variation made with frozen limeade concentrate, tequila, and light beer. For fast measuring, you can use the empty can of limeade concentrate to measure the tequila. One 12-oz. can is equivalent to 1 1/2 cups. Serve the Beer ‘Garitas in salt-rimmed glasses, if desired.
Pink Lemonade Cocktail
Recipe: Pink Lemonade Cocktail
This refreshing yet potent pitcher drink is made with three ingredients: frozen pink lemonade concentrate, vodka, and light beer. This combo might sound strange (a fun party trick is to make people guess what’s in it), but the beer balances out the sweetness of the lemonade, while the vodka adds a nice kick. Serve this cocktail over lots of ice and garnish with lemon slices and raspberries, if you’re feeling festive.
Hosting a morning tailgate party? Whip up a big batch of beer-based mimosas to go with those sausage biscuits. A light lager beer will taste great with orange juice, orange liqueur, and a few dashes of bitters. This recipe makes one serving, but it can easily be scaled up for a crowd.
Apple, Lemon, and Gin Shandy
Recipe: Apple, Lemon, and Gin Shandy
A shandy is a light and fizzy combination of lemonade and beer served over ice—it’s the perfect drink for a hot day. We gave the classic shandy a new twist by adding gin and a spicy, refreshing ginger-apple lemonade.
Recipe: Southern Living Bloody Mary
Our scratch-made Bloody Mary mixer tastes great with gin or vodka (or even plain, served over ice), but you can also mix it with light beer to make a Michelada. Serve each drink with a lime wedge.
Raspberry Beer Cocktail
Recipe: Raspberry Beer Cocktail
Similar to our Pink Lemonade Cocktail, this simple pitcher drink is made with light beer, frozen raspberry lemonade concentrate, and vodka. For bigger raspberry flavor, swap out the light beer for raspberry lambic or a raspberry hard cider.
