Today's brides want to be comfortable at their weddings, so they're turning to dresses with more coverage so they don't have to continually readjust throughout the evening. Pinterest reports that global search for "high necklines" is up 351 percent from January 2017 to January 2018. Halter styles, like the Willowby gown at right, and tops with lace coverage are on the rise.
Toppers and beleros are also trending for brides who want extra coverage during the ceremony, but want the option to remove it if the dance floor gets a little too hot. Search for "beleros" is up 163 percent this year, with hundreds of pretty options popping up. Whether you'd prefer something lacy (like the BHLDN option, at right), or modern silk, there's a style for everyone.
For brides who really want to dance, eat, and drink without fear of wardrobe malfunctions, a modern wedding jumpsuit is the solution. On Pinterest, search for wedding "jumpsuits" has soared 178 percent this year. This Jill Jill Stuart pick is sleek and elegant, with a dramatic deep v-neck.
Search for wedding dresses with sleeves (both short and long) is up 75 percent, with delicate lacy options stealing the show. This Monique Lhuillier dress combines lacy sleeves and a row of satin buttons for a look that's undeniably classy.
What use is a comfy wedding gown if you're teetering in sky-high heels? Continue the trends above by slipping into some cozy wedding flats (up 119 percent on Pinterest) after the ceremony. Choose an option that's embellished, like this pair from ASOS, and you'll still look every bit the bride—even if you forego heels completely.
