According to Fox 7, the 5-year-old Labrador/golden retriever mix beat cancer with some help from the Austin Animal Center.

"It was a kind of cancer that's easily treatable, one with a certain type of chemotherapy. It has a 95% cure rate. Even though we have never done chemo at the shelter, we thought it would be a good one to start with," Dr. Rachel Hays, Sasha's veterinarian, told Fox 7.

The friendly pooch was found limping on the streets and was brought in to the Texas animal shelter. After giving Sasha an X-ray, the staff discovered she had a tumor and several pelvic fractures.

Even with some hard work ahead, Sasha and the shelter didn't give up. AAC found Sasha a loving foster family that was able to bring her in every Tuesday for chemotherapy and give her a stress-free environment the rest of the week.

Now, Sasha is ready to give someone her full time attention at a forever home. Her foster family says she knows her basic commands, would be good with children and loves to cuddle.
