This polish only requires one swipe for perfectly even color—no topcoat required.

Whether in salon or at home, waiting for your nail polish to dry has to be one of the most trying tests of patience there is. Not to mention all the layers that go into it, from base to top coats. That all changed when I tried Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail Color ($4.09;

I was in a rush before an event recently and when I glanced down at my nails I realized how unkept they looked. With no time for a proper manicure, I decided to try a new Sally Hansen polish that had come across my desk (perks of being a beauty editor). I reached for a metallic rose gold hue called "Petal to the Metal" and swiped it on. I was instantly impressed with the wide, flat shape of the brush—it made applying the polish a breeze. I was equally pleased when I realized my nails were completely covered with just one coat. And they looked great, I might add!

I definitely didn't need a top coat right away because the polish left enough shine on its own, but I did add one the next day to give the color a little oomph. The polish lasted almost a week without chipping. Whether I'm in a rush or not, I think this will be my new go-to polish. From soft neutrals to bold brights, Sally Hansen Insta-Dr comes in 48 shades to match every mood or outfit you have.
