See Meghan Markle's Givenchy Wedding Dress From Every Angle
On Saturday, Meghan Markle walked down the aisle to marry her fiancé, Prince Harry.
In front of hundreds of her friends and family, along with millions around the globe, Meghan stepped out of her hotel and into a Rolls Royce next to her mother Doria in her custom-made wedding gown.
It was then that people got their first glimpse of Meghan in her long, white veil covering her pulled back and thoroughly regal hair, and the Queen's diamond bandeau tiara adorning the top of her now-royal head. And it was then that the world got just a hint of her bateau neckline gown created by Givenchy.
"Ms. Meghan Markle's wedding dress has been designed by the acclaimed British designer, Clare Waight Keller. Ms. Waight Keller last year became the first female Artistic Director at the historic French fashion house Givenchy," Kensington Palace shared in a tweet.
Following her short drive from the hotel to Windsor Castle, Meghan stepped out of the car looking every bit the royal in her long-sleeved, A-line, silk gown. Her veil, which trailed for several feet behind the stunning bride, also came complete with a delicate lace detail.
According to Kensington Palace, Meghan thought it was important to have all "53 countries of the Commonwealth with her on her journey through the ceremony. Ms. Waight Keller designed a veil representing the distinctive flora of each Commonwealth country united in one spectacular floral composition."
In a statement, the palace noted that Meghan first met Keller in early 2018. Meghan chose the designer for "her timeless and elegant aesthetic, impeccable tailoring, and relaxed demeanour. Ms. Markle also wanted to highlight the success of a leading British talent who has now served as the creative head of three globally influential fashion houses – Pringle of Scotland, Chloé, and now Givenchy."
Meghan reportedly worked very closely with the designer for the look of her dress, and truly, the love and effort put into the gown shows.
