I find myself dipping into my carton of Greek yogurt almost every night, whether to slather it over warm pita bread or stir it into a sauce.
Certain ingredients can take a dish from good to great—and I’m not talking about anything fancy. Freshly-ground black pepper is one of them. Fresh herbs are another. But Greek yogurt is my number one go-to.
Over the past few years, the timing of my yogurt consumption has dramatically shifted from morning to evening. While I do enjoy it with fruit for breakfast, I find this rich and creamy style of yogurt to be much more versatile and rewarding as a savory component in dinner. Look for 2 percent or full-fat plain Greek yogurt—no fruit-on-the-bottom stuff here.
Here are some of the mouthwatering ways I enjoy Greek yogurt. Try one of these delicious meal ideas, or sample them all!
1. Spread it on top of pita bread or toast. Creamy, tangy Greek yogurt tastes right at home spooned and swiveled across a toasted carb. 2. Stir it into a sauce. Sure, a dollop of yogurt can stand on its own. But with just a few mix-ins, it can be transformed into a flavor-packed superstar sauce.
