This Trending Shade of Eyeliner Is Universally Flattering and Perfect for the Holidays
Here's how to get the look.
Getting dressed up for the holidays can be quite the feat. There's so much pressure to look both polished and festive—but tacky holiday sweaters and glitter nails make it easy to go a little too far. So when Pinterest recently revealed this holiday season's trending beauty looks, we were so excited to see that a simple gold eyeliner is up 722 percent from last year.
The look, which is so easy to recreate, is also universally flattering—a little gold liner looks good on all skin tones and eye colors.
To get the look, simply grab a gold eyeliner pencil—we love NYX Professional Makeup Mechanical Eye Pencil ($5; macys.com)—and fill in your waterline along the lower lashes and in between the lashes on the top. Put a little on the inner corners to really make your eyes pop, then finish with a few coats of mascara.
The best part about this look is that it doesn't require any additional eyeshadow. If you don't have a gold liner on hand but still want to try the trend, use a silver liner or any other metallic hue. For extra holiday pop, pair it with a red lip.
Don't feel like switching up your makeup for the holiday? There are also some easy, festive hairstyles trending. Try a simple velvet bow around a low ponytail—bonus points if it's in red or green. Or add a small comb to your topknot or low bun. We love this star embellished one from Kitsch ($12; ulta.com).
