All of the Incredible, Life-Size Gingerbread Houses at Disney Parks This Year
Disney’s Contemporary Resort
The Cinderella castle was recreated in a Mary Blair-style set on an "It’s A Small World" backdrop. Standing at 18 feet tall, the castle is crafted from thousands of gingerbread blocks, rolled fondant and modeling chocolate, and features oversized gingerbread cookies depicting Cinderella and Prince Charming. This year, a gingerbread Fairy Godmother and a display box featuring Cinderella’s glass slipper were added.
Historic U.S. sites, including the Capitol Building, the Lincoln Memorial, and Washington Monument (topped with golden Mickey ears!) come to life with over 50 lbs. of gingerbread and 20 lbs. of icing.
Located in the Grand Hall of the Haunted Mansion, this five-foot spider, inspired by Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, has glowing eyes and hangs over a gingerbread mansion on the Grand Hall Table.
Disney's Beach Club Resort
The display features Donald and Daisy-themed carousel horses decorated with chocolate, sugar, and fondant as well as hand-crafted gingerbread snowflakes. Nineteen hidden Mickeys can also be found on the spinning creation to commemorate each year this design has been featured in the resort.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
As soon as guests walk into the hotel lobby, they will find a life-size holiday house featuring more than 10,000 pieces of gingerbread. The house, which was built using a classic recipe from Austria, is celebrating its 20th year in the resort and acts as a sweet shop selling freshly baked house-made items.
Located in the Amorette’s Patisserie, this storefront display is a miniature version of the pastry shop surrounded by little gingerbread trees.
Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa
This gingerbread house is a replica of Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa which stands over seven feet tall and is decorated with over 600 pounds of gingerbread. If you look closely, you’ll even find a few hidden Mickeys sprinkled throughout the display.
