8 Beauty Rules Carrie Underwood Lives By
Get Your Glow On
"I do love a healthy glow. Almay's Almay Healthy Glow Makeup + Gradual Self Tan [she's an ambassador for the brand] blew my mind," Underwood told PeopleStyle in a recent interview. "I was like, 'Wait, there's self-tanner in the makeup?' For so many years, I would only put self-tanner on when I didn’t have to go anywhere because it was going to make my makeup look weird. So it's nice they've figured out a way to get it in the makeup."
Play With Products
"Makeup is meant to be fun and make you feel good about yourself, so play a little bit! Find something that you see in a magazine or maybe one of your friends does and try it," Underwood said. "Find some random Sunday when you’re really not going anywhere and give it a shot because it takes a little practice. But just play!"
Use Makeup You're Comfortable With
"Makeup is a confidence builder for me. When I want to look hot, I like smoky eyes and eyeliner," the star told us. "You can do some fun things with eyeliner to elevate your look. And Almay's new eyeliner has a tip that is so sturdy - they make it easier and doable for every woman."
Carrie Underwood: Maintain Your Mani
"I’ve gotten a lot more manis in recent years than I ever have before. You just feel nicer when you have your nails done. I go in feeling haggard and then they rub some lotion on me and scrub around my nails and I feel like a new woman. That’s the only thing I splurge on."
Don't Overpluck Your Brows
“Growing up in the '90s I feel like the thin eyebrow was definitely a thing and I, like so many others, overdid it,” the singer told PeopleStyle. “They never really grew back the way they were supposed to so now I am very happy that they do have eyebrow pencils, so I can fix what I did to myself when I was young.”
Consolidate Your Cosmetics
"I keep it simple, especially traveling, I can’t have like 5,000 different eye shadows and stuff like that. So I do love a great eye palette," the country singer told us.
Embrace Your Flaws
“I had freckles on my face and they were in the exact same spot on both of my cheeks, so I felt like I got teased at school. I remember asking my mom if we could get rid of them. Well, I did get rid of them,” Underwood said. “Now, I would be better at embracing that uniqueness. We’re all human.”
