Hint: The Gulf Coast dominates.
Everyone knows the lure of Florida in the winter: mild weather, cool ocean breezes, a uniform of shorts and flip flops (even in January). But summers, too, can be just as magical. Yes, it’s hot, but that’s all the more reason to suit up and park yourself in a beach chair steps from the cool blue sea.
Wondering where to plan your Sunshine State vacation? The team at FloridaRentals.com recently pulled together their 10 hottest summer destinations (based on search traffic) and some of our year-round faves made the cut. According to the ranking, the top place people flock to in the summer happens to be just as hot over Spring Break: Panama City Beach.

Blessed with 27 miles of wide white-sand beaches and calm turquoise waters, this Gulf coast town offers plenty of activities on and off the water in the summer. But with crowds decidedly more toned down than during Spring Break, it becomes the perfect hangout for couples and families. Festivals and a free summer concert series offer even more reason to book a warm-weather escape to PCB.
If you’re seeking a quieter escape, head south down 75 to the charming water-wrapped towns of Siesta Key or Marco Island—both destinations also made the top 10. Or, make the Emerald Coast your escape with a trip to Destin.
