Walk into Aiken, South Carolina's The Wilcox, and you'll instantly feel at ease at the hotel, restaurant and spa. That's why those who have paid the delightful property a visit won't be surprised to learn that the hotel, established in 1898, has been named one of Southern Living's South's Best Hotels for 2018.

But on March 19th — long after our April issue revealing the South's Best winners was sent to the printing press — some exciting news came from this fabled getaway. Yesterday evening, The Wilcox opened a new on-site vacation rental, dubbed Chef's Cottage. The dreamy abode is pet-friendly and comes with private outdoor space. You can stay in the Chef's Cottage for $250-$700 a night, and the one-to-three bedroom home also has its own kitchen. See the photos below.

We are opening the doors to Chef’s Cottage and welcoming you for an Open House this evening! Stop by and see this...

We love the airy interiors featuring a predominately white-and-beige color scheme and can easily picture ourselves calling this vacation rental home for a week (or fifty two).

As we wrote of The Wilcox in our feature highlighting the 2018 best hotels winners, it's "[w]onderfully old school but not at all stuffy." May we also add that its restaurant has pumpkin pie pancakes with pecan brittle butter and bourbon maple syrup on its brunch menu? Order a double stack.
