This Fall, Forget Salted Roasted Pumpkin Seeds and Try This Instead
Roasted pumpkin seeds are one of our favorite fall treats, but most often opt to prepare them in a savory style with the addition of ingredients like salt, paprika, and cayenne. This autumn, make a sweet rendition of the stellar snack.
After sprinkling your roasted pumpkin seeds with a bit of salt, follow The Kitchn's lead and "toss with a bit of brown sugar, a little maple syrup, or honey — just enough to lightly coat the seeds," as Sheela Prakash describes in an article for the food site. "You can stop there, or add a few generous pinches of warm baking spices like ground cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, cardamom, or pumpkin pie spice. Toss well to coat evenly. Return the tray to the oven and continue to roast for another 10 to 15 minutes."
Trust us when we say however many pumpkin seeds you roast, you're going to want to double the amount. In addition to snacking, roasted pumpkin seeds make a great topping for oatmeal, salads, and more.
