Leal Active Time: 30 mins Total Time: 1 hrs Yield: 32 Ingredients 1 tablespoon white nonpareil sprinkles 1 tablespoon purple nonpareil sprinkles 1 tablespoon yellow nonpareil sprinkles 1 tablespoon orange nonpareil sprinkles 1 tablespoon blue nonpareil sprinkles 4 tablespoons unsalted butter 1 (10-oz.) pckg. mini marshmallows 1/2 teaspoon almond extract Pinch of salt 6 cups puffed rice cereal Equipment Heavy-bottomed pot Plastic easter eggs Nonstick cooking spray 3 empty cardboard egg crates Directions Mix all of the sprinkles together in a bowl and set aside. Over medium heat, melt the butter in a heavy-bottomed pot. Once melted, add the marshmallows, almond extract, and salt. Stir constantly until marshmallows are completely melted and combined. Remove from heat, and add puffed rice cereal and 1/2 of the sprinkle mixture. Stir until well combined. Working quickly, spray the inside of a plastic easter egg with nonstick cooking spray. Spray your hands as well and stuff each side of the easter egg with the puffed rice mixture so it comes slightly out of each half. Then press the two sides together firmly to seal the egg. Open the egg and gently remove the rice krispie treat. Dip the top of the rice krispie treat into the bowl of mixed sprinkles and then place it in an empty slot in a cardboard egg crate. Repeat the process with the rest of the puffed rice mixture, spraying the egg and your hands as needed with cooking spray. Allow to firm before eating, about 30 minutes. Rate it Print
