Braided Easter Bread
For many around the world, Easter is a time of celebration with food that is delicious and rich with meaning. While many iterations of Easter bread come out of various culinary traditions across Europe, most of them are braids of three strands (representing the Christian Trinity) and wrapped into a circle to symbolize the crown of thorns worn by Jesus at his crucifixion. Our version of Easter bread smells of sweet lemon and has plump golden raisins suspended throughout the lightly sweetened dough. It makes for a beautiful addition to any Easter meal.
