FABULOUS!!! We made this cake in parfaits for my daughter's wedding! Guest couldn't get enough of it. Had to stop my helpers from eating the icing right out of the bowl.
I've been baking for more than forty years and have no earthly idea how to measure four tenths of a cup cup. I would love to try this cake after the recipe has been edited.
Epic disaster and should be taken down until properly edited. To be fair, the cake itself was just fine, halved nicely, and I will use that recipe again. However the frosting turned to custard after adding the cream. What a waste of so many ingredients. First, have you ever seen .4 anything in a recipe? I guess the thoughtless editing was in the metric translation. I checked many other mascarpone frosting recipes and most had little or no liquid. In the very few that called for cream it was whipped first! I ended up salvaging this huge disappointment by turning this into a trifle so as not to waste all that time and $. What a shame - I was really looking forward to delivering that pretty cake.
