Why not celebrate Christmas in July with a little frozen treat? These adorable Banana Penguins are a fun activity to involve kids over the summer that'll remind you of cooler days to come. And, this fun recipe just takes a few ingredients you've probably got in your kitchen cabinets. Although we've put our banana "pops" on a stick for portability, you can also lay your penguins on a platter for a large group to simplify serving. Sprinkle a little shredded coconut on the plate as "snow" to add to your penguins' scenery.

How to Make It

Step 1

Add coconut oil to chocolate chips and microwave until melted (about 60-70 seconds). 

Step 2

Peel bananas. Cut 2/3 of the way down the bananas, discarding the bottom portion. Skewer cut bananas onto lollipop sticks and dip into chocolate, starting with the back and then tilting up to coat the top of the banana, forming a "head" for the penguin. Set chocolate-covered bananas onto a baking sheet lined with parchment.

Step 3

Add candy eyes and a chocolate candy turned sideways for the penguin's beak. Using a small amount of melted chocolate as adhesive, attach two additional orange chocolate candies onto the bottom of the bananas for the feet.

Step 4

Freeze bananas for 20 minutes before serving.
