The recipe makes one cocktail, but it can be multiplied by any number and batched and chilled ahead of time, making it perfect for a holiday gathering. Garnish each glass with a pretty, paper-thin slice of red-skinned pear and a sprig of thyme. Ingredients 1 oz. pear brandy 2 oz. bourbon 1/2 oz. Thyme Simple Syrup 1/2 oz. fresh lemon juice Dash of Angostura bitters Firm red pear, such as Anjou, for garnish Thyme sprigs, for garnish Directions Add pear brandy, bourbon, simple syrup, lemon juice, and bitters to a cocktail mixing glass. Fill with ice cubes, and gently stir mixture until well combined and chilled, about 30 seconds. Pour mixture through a cocktail strainer into a rocks glass. Using a sharp chef’s knife, slice a very thin round from a pear (for the prettiest slice, aim for the mid-section with the seeds). Place slice upright inside the rocks glass, and add one large ice cube. Garnish with a sprig of thyme. Rate it Print
