Frank Lloyd Wright-Designed Home in Houston Is Listed for $2,850,000
There are only three homes designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in the entire Lone Star State, and now one of them — the only in Houston — has hit the market for $2.85 milllion. Located in plush Bunker Hill, the home was built in 1955. Orginally 1,800-square-feet, the abode underwent extensive and thoughtful renovations in the '90s with a 6,300-square-foot addition. The now five bedroom and six-and-a-half bathroom has Wright's famed Usonian style as the centerpiece, a type of architecture known for its single-story, L-shaped home design around a garden area and the use of native materials and flat roofs.
“To a Frank Lloyd Wright purist, I would tell you that it’s been redone,” said listing agent Clay Joyner with JP & Associates in a recent Realtor.com piece on the listing. Scroll down to see the architectural wonder and view the full listing on Realtor.com here.
