Brides-to-be, if you're looking for your dream wedding dress, now's the time to head to the bridal salon. According to Brides, the entire month of January is prime time for wedding dress shopping for a few key reasons.

First, for summer brides, purchasing your dress in January gives you at least four months for seamstress fittings—enough to ensure your dress fits perfectly—and a roomier timeline if you're opting for an early fall wedding.

Second, Brides stresses the importance of shopping now to make the most of new inventory, since January is when styles from April's Bridal Fashion Week begin to land in stores. Another smart reason to plan your wedding dress shopping for January? To beat a case of the winter blahs. It's the perfect thing to do with your closest friend and/or parent on a gloomy January day," Gabriella Risatti of Gabriella New York Bridal Salon, says in the article.

Last but not least: It's sample sale season. These bi-annual events are typically held in January (and once in the summer) as bridal boutiques look to sell old inventory, and you can score a serious deal. Indeed, with time running out, you may not want to sprint to the bridal boutique in the next three days, but for those tying the knot in 2019 and beyond, there's good reason to delay your wedding dress shopping until next year. That 80%-off lace-and-tulle sample sale dream will thank you.
