If you're hungry, you already know Southern staple Waffle House is an excellent bet. And if you're hungry for some warm hospitality, the beloved eatery has you covered, too.

Just take the recent example of the Waffle House at 325 Savannah Highway in Charleston, South Carolina, where Sharifah Johnson has been a waitress for around 20 years. As Charleston's Post and Courier reports, Waffle House #411 took time last Friday, November 23rd to toast the beloved employee, during what was dubbed "Sharifah Day."

Congregating at the restaurant, loyal patrons, loved ones, fellow employees, and the company's CEO, surprised Johnson with a party to honor her contributions to the company. The event was put together by long-time regular Michael Scott Cohen, who helped to raise $6,300 from friends, customers, and co-workers to present to Johnson during the party.

"It's a big deal, she's a big deal," Walt Ehmer, CEO and President of Waffle House, told the Post and Courier of Johnson's outstanding service for the company. "I'm proud to be here for her."
