'Virgin River' Dethrones 'The Crown', Takes Top Spot in Latest Streaming Rankings

Netflix has new royalty.

We're not the only ones who can't get enough of Mel and Jack!

Virgin River has unseated The Crown from the top spot in Nielsen's weekly streaming rankings, taking up nearly 1.8 billion minutes of viewing time between November 30 and December 6.

The hit Netflix series, based on the bestselling Harlequin book series by Robyn Carr, moved up from third to first on the top-10 list following the release of season two on November 27.

The Crown, which still accounted for a whopping 1.46 billion minutes of viewing time, slid down to second place. The Office came in third with 1.31 billion, while The Mandalorian's 994 million minutes of viewing time propelled it to the fourth spot.

Netflix has already confirmed that Virgin River will return for a third season on the streaming platform. The binge-worthy saga, which first premiered in December 2019, follows nurse practitioner Mel Monroe (played by Alexandra Breckenridge) who, after escaping her tragic past, discovers small-town life and love in northern California.

While the release date for season three has yet to be announced, fans can look forward to the introductions of two new series regulars: Jack's sister Brie and Lilly's daughter Tara.
