Netflix is planning to serve up enough Virgin River to last us through at least 2021!

Having devoured the second season of the heartwarming series within days of it appearing on the streaming service over the weekend, we’re already looking forward to a season three.

According to What’s on Netflix, filming for the third installment of Virgin River is likely already underway. It turns out that Netflix execs had a feeling that the feel-good show would be a hit long before it premiered. In fact, Virgin River season two was reportedly renewed before season one even dropped!

The binge-worthy saga, which is based on the Harlequin book series of the same name by Robyn Carr, premiered in December 2019. Viewers fell in love with the story of nurse practitioner Mel Monroe (played by Alexandra Breckenridge) who, after escaping her tragic past, discovers small-town life and love in northern California.

As for what to expect, details regarding Virgin River's third season are slim. Aside from more medical drama, neighborhood squabbling, and plenty of romance, we're hopeful that the next installment answers the countless questions season two's cliffhanger finale left us with.
