Thomas Rhett Shares Why He and Wife Lauren Akins Named Their Youngest Daughter Lennon Love

Willa Gray. Ada James. Lennon Love. Thomas Rhett and wife Lauren Akins have come up with such beautiful names for their three daughters. Recently, we were thrilled to learn the sweet backstory of the name of their youngest daughter, Lennon Love, born in February of this year, courtesy of an interview with Rhett's record company, Big Machine Label Group. (Rhett's newest release, "Be a Light," which broke the top ten list on the country music charts earlier this month, is donating part of its proceeds to the Recording Academy's MusiCares COVID-19 Relief fund.)

In an introduction to the short, "weekly audio bites" clip, Big Machine Label Group notes that Lauren took the reins on naming Lennon's older sisters, so she told her husband he could take the lead for their youngest daughter. In the clip, Rhett shares the sweet backstory behind Lennon Love's name.

"Lennon came from John Lennon, from the Beatles. I knew I wanted some sort of musical name for our third child, and me and Lauren both loved the name Lennon," says Rhett. "And Love—her middle name was gonna actually be Louise, but in the hospital one of her friends texts her. She was like, 'Hey, since it's Valentine's Day, maybe you should name her Lennon Love.' And it kind of started as a joke but kinda became cemented. That's what we kind of decided in the hospital."
