Son Answers Retiring Police Officer's Final Radio Call in Emotional Exchange
Earlier this week, after 31 years on the force, Arkansas Highway Police Corporal Roy Martin gave his last radio call.
He didn't expect his proud son, a fellow Arkansas State Police Corporal, to answer.
"Attention all units. It is a great pleasure to announce that after 31 years of dedicated service, my dad, Corporal Roy Martin is retiring and giving his final 10-7," Corporal Billy Martin announced while his stunned father listened. "It is my honor, Corporal Roy Martin, to acknowledge your 10-7—you're the greatest man I know."
Arkansas State Police shared a video of the emotional moment on Facebook. Tears can be seen slipping down Roy's cheek before he gets back on the radio to deliver his final 10-7 (the police code for "out of service").

"If you come from a law enforcement family, you always have an understanding of the bond it brings. If you don't, here is your proof," Arkansas State Police wrote alongside the now-viral video. "The Arkansas State Police wishes Arkansas Highway Police Corporal Roy Martin a wonderful retirement, and we thank you for your service to the state of Arkansas!"
It doesn't get much sweeter than that!
