Ree Drummond’s Favorite Childhood Meal is a Southern Classic
Can you guess?
The Pioneer Woman may be whipping up plenty of new dishes in the kitchen these days, but there's one special recipe she returns to time and time again.
As Drummond revealed to Taste of Home, chicken spaghetti is “one of those tastes of childhood…I take a bite and I still feel like I’m seven.” A much-loved classic throughout the South, chicken spaghetti combines its two namesake staples with onions, bell peppers, tomatoes, cheddar cheese, and more to create a craveable casserole.
To jazz it up, you can also add hot sauce, extra veggies, and even additional spices like paprika or cayenne. But our advice is to keep it simple and let the swirls of spaghetti and shredded chicken do all the work.

Like so many of us, Drummond returns to childhood go-tos because of the nostalgia factor. “There were a lot of memorable meals that really informed the things that I cook for my family,” she told Taste of Home. “The things my grandma, my mom, and her friends made are so much a part of my kitchen.”
