Twitter/Oregon Zoo

The latest craze to sweep the Twitterverse combines two of our favorite things: Amazon and zoo animals.

The hashtag "#rateaspecies" went viral on Twitter last week after the Oregon Zoo shared a photo of one of its otters and reviewed it as if it were a product on Amazon. The zoo gave their adorable furry resident four stars, writing "Overall very good first impressions. Sturdy built, totally winter-ready and waterproof. Only comes in brown but that's actually a plus for me."

Other zoos and aquariums quickly followed suit, offering hilarious faux reviews of their own animals with the #rateaspecies hashtag.

Tennessee Aquarium in Chatanooga reviewed one of their opossums, and gave their cute critter a glowing five stars. "Exceeds expectations!" the aquarium tweeted. "Very cute marsupial IMHO – and the only one found in the US! Curious if negative reviewers know about the benefits to the eco-system?"
