Channel Your Inner Monarch with the Queen’s Afternoon Tea
The Republic of Tea’s latest offering inspired by Netflix’s The Crown.
Whether you’ve already devoured all of season 3 of The Crown on Netflix, or you’re holding out to watch over the holidays, one of our favorite tea brands available at Cost Plus World Market has released a trio of offerings that pair perfectly with a royal binge-fest. The Republic of Tea has just debuted the third of three teas inspired by The Crown, called The Queen’s Afternoon Tea. This brew is described on the company’s website as, “a base of robust black tea is softened with the essence of honey. This tea blend supplies the fortitude needed for the Queen to execute her royal duties.”
The third tea was just released last month in conjunction with the season 3 premiere of the award-winning Netflix series that chronicles the Royal family over the lifespan of Britain’s longest reigning monarch, Queen Elizabeth II. This season sees a changing of the guard in terms of the cast as we have jumped forward in time. Olivia Colman has taken over the tiaras from Clare Foy as Queen Elizabeth and Outlander’s Tobias Menzies has stepped into Prince Philip’s shoes. The storyline this season will carry viewers from “From cold-war paranoia, through to the jet-set and the space age – the exuberance of the 1960s and the long hangover of the 1970s – Elizabeth and the Royals must adapt to a new, more liberated, but also more turbulent world,” as a release stated.
The Queen’s Afternoon is the third blend in the company’s trio of The Crown Tea Collection, and all come in a collector’s tin featuring artwork from the show. Previously released, The Queen’s Evening Tea and The Prime Minister’s Blend are both available on Amazon for under $15. They are also available at Cost Plus World Market, which is having several Cyber Monday deals ranging from 15% to 40% off of your purchase depending on how much you order.
