It doesn't have to be that way. As The TODAY Show recently reported, you can put your tights in the freezer before wearing to help them last longer. First, run your tights under water until damp and then place in a plastic bag. Keep in the freezer overnight and take them out a day in advance to come back to room temperature. There's no need to repeat the process before each wear, as doing this once is said to strengthen your stockings' fibers and to help ward off pesky holes from forming. Note: In general, tights with the highest Lycra content are going to be the most durable.

Double note: We may need a second freezer to make it through New Year's Eve.
