There was quite the unexpected gator sighting poolside in Hilton Head, South Carolina last week. And we're not talking about the inflatable float variety.

As Savannah's WSAV-TV 3 intially reported, those lazing by the pool at the Plantation Club Villas witnessed a gator taking a dip in the pool last Friday. After a bit of work, a crew was able to get the alligator safely removed from the pool and transported into the bed of the truck. Presumably, officials were then able to return the gator to its natural habitat. Watch the video below.

In recent months, the Palmetto State has had quite a few noteworthy gator sightings, including an alligator sidling up to the door of a home in Myrtle Beach (see below) and orange-hued gators reportedly spotted sunbathing in Bluffton.

We don't know about you, but everybody watching this gator-in-the-pool incident and handling the gator seems quite calm. Would you be able to keep it together if faced with a big, green gator during your morning swim?
