Growing up a gifted three-sport athlete in Whitehouse, Texas, even from a young age, it was clear that Patrick Mahomes was destined for great things.

Sure, his coaches and teammates might have seen a Super Bowl ring in his future, but only one person had the foresight to write his prediction down.

Spencer Shaw, who attended Whitehouse High School with Mahomes, was so certain that his classmate would one day win the Super Bowl, that he wrote it in their yearbook.

So, when it came time for the Whitehouse Class of 2014 to share what they were looking forward to most about their class reunion, Shaw wrote, "Seeing Patrick Mahomes' super bowl ring."

He shared a photo of the yearbook page on Twitter.

Shaw, who played basketball with Mahomes in high school, told KFOR-TV that he always had a good feeling about him.

"When he started focusing on football, it was just kind of a given. He's going to win a Super Bowl one day, just kind of made sense," Shaw said.

"He's got that work ethic that he's going to succeed, and he's also the kind of guy that you root for. He's one of the best guys you'll ever meet," he continued. "So, all of that together is just kind of, most people back in Whitehouse just kind of felt, whatever he wants to do, he's going to be able to do."
