An Oklahoma couple with a new baby began to grow suspicious of their dog, Dovey, when pacifiers kept going missing around the house. When the baby’s grandmother caught the pup stealing a pacifier off the counter, the family knew they’d found their culprit. But when Dovey started eating less, and ultimately vomited up a binky, they knew they had a much bigger problem on their hands.

The couple rushed Dovey to Dr. Chris Rispoli at Gentle Care Animal Hospital in Edmond for an x-ray. Rispoli estimated that there were between seven and nine pacifiers in the dog's stomach, but when they opened her up, they were shocked to find 21 colorful pacifiers stuffed inside her belly.

“This was the most fascinating and exciting surgery I have ever done or my staff has ever been a part of,” Rispoli wrote on Facebook alongside copies of Dovey’s x-ray and some (graphic) photos of the operation.

Rispoli noted that Dovey was recovering well from surgery, and ended the post with a warning to other dog parents. “Dog’s will eat anything, anytime and at any age so always be watching!!!” he wrote.
