You Smoky Mountains summer vacation just got better.

At Ober Gatlinburg, the popular ski resort and amusement park, there's a new reason to visit: Summer tubing.

If the picture above doesn't capture the joy and wonder of this simple sport, here's the breakdown. When guests visit the resort, they can choose to participate in this new activity adjacent to the Ski Mountain Coaster where you get to slide down the mountain in a special tube. Per the Knoxville News Sentinelriders can choose to zoom down one of four 250-foot lanes that mimic the sensation of gliding on snow.

Other summer attractions at Ober Gatlinburg include the aerial tram, mountain coaster, ice skating and ice bumper cars, an alpine slide, rock climbing wall, wildlife experiences, and more.

On May 17th, the city of Gatlinburg will also welcome the opening of the Gatlinburg SkyLift Park Pedestrian Bridge, the longest pedestrian-only suspension bridge in America, so bring your comfiest walking shoes.

You know, in case you want to burn off all those treats from Ober Gatlinburg's fudge shop.
