This 115-Year-Old New Orleans Victorian Has Vintage Charm to Spare

A one-time boarding house dating back to 1904, this Garden District jewel has been impeccably restored to its original Victorian splendor. Now a luxurious family home, the five-bedroom, 4,831-square-foot double-gallery underwent a top-to-bottom renovation in 2016 including the addition of a third floor. The property’s current owner took great pains to highlight its best features—including egg-and-dart moldings, period medallions, intricate woodwork, Caribbean pine floors, and 12-foot ceilings—with historically accurate hardware and a complementary color palette. But that’s certainly not to say that it hasn’t been appropriately modernized. Hello sub-zero refrigerator and Viking stove!Though the house features no shortage of wow-worthy features, like a master suite that features a walk-in closet and a sitting room, we think the gigantic, uber-organized pantry is most deserving of a standing ovation. This New Orleans beauty is currently listed by The Martzolf Group with McEnery Residential for $1,750,000.
