Hot Sauce-Glazed Krispy Kreme Doughnuts and More: North Carolina State Fair’s New Culinary Lineup Revealed
Our mouths are watering already.
The North Carolina State Fair is just days away, and this year’s vendors are cooking up some of the wildest concoctions our stomachs have ever seen.
This morning, state fair organizers unveiled the list of new foods added to this year’s mouthwatering lineup, including 20 brand new culinary creations that are guaranteed to have people lining up and digging in.
We’re fearing for our waistlines already!

The doughnuts, which come courtesy of S2 Concessions, pair two Southern favorites in holy, finger-licking matrimony: mini Krispy Kreme doughnuts and Texas Pete hot sauce.
The shrimp and grits eggrolls, the brainchild of Woody’s Sports Tavern & Grill, feature local farm raised shrimp, North Carolina stone ground cheese grits, and tasso ham all rolled into an eggroll wrapper and deep-fried until crispy then topped with a red pepper remoulade sauce. Mmm mmm mmm!
We’ve also got our eyes on Hickory Tree BBQ’s Crack-n-Cheese in a Waffle Cone, which includes turkey barbecue-spiked mac and cheese all served in a waffle cone.
