Unfortunately, February 14th won’t be bringing chocolate and flowers for all of us this year. But if you’re thinking that the bitterness in your heart means you need to sit this Valentine’s Day out, think again.  Two zoos have come up with a uniquely fitting way for those of us who aren’t feeling the love to, um, celebrate.

Both the Hemsley Conservation Center in London and the Bronx Zoo in New York are offering jilted lovers the chance to name a cockroach after their ex.

Choosing to name a British cockroach after the jerk who wronged you will run you approximately two bucks. The name you choose will appear on the “roach board” at the cockroach enclosure as well as free entry should you ever find yourself in the neighborhood.

Stateside, the Bronx Zoo is asking for $15 to name one of their Madagascar hissing cockroaches after the person of your choice. Your purchase includes a digital certificate you can either send or keep.

If you ask us, it’s the perfect way to get revenge without really getting revenge. Plus, proceeds benefit the zoos—not just the cockroaches.
