Mitzi Owen is a lady after our own hearts. Her husband's mom has given her a subscription to Southern Living every year for her birthday for the past 30 or so years. As a child growing up on Vero Beach, Jake Owen has fond memories of his mama always bringing along the latest issue to the beach to read under the Florida sun. Now, she's wowed us with some sassy etiquette advice.

"I hope you still always hold the door for a lady..I cannot believe how many kids (and rude men) let the door slam right in my face," she texts her son. "Lol. I almost snatched this one kid by the arm a minute ago and talked to him about being a gentleman! I know you would never do that. It's one of the reasons why I love you."

Ever a Southern gentleman, Owen captions a screenshot of the text message with, "Yes Mom..Dad taught me well. Listen up little boys."

With 52,525 likes on instagram and counting, fans of Owen are clearly on the same page as Mrs.Owen. "You have a great momma! I feel her pain that stuff happens to me all the time.. it's rude. I even hold doors for guys it's just a sign of respect!" writes one commenter, while another chimes in, "Still do! My mom would come out of the grave..." (P.S. Mitzi Owen responded on Instagram that she would never grab a kid's arm, unless it was her sons Jake or Jarrod.)

Jake, if you start noticing women walking really slowly around you, you know who to thank.
