Miranda Lambert Invites Students from Her High School's Choir to Perform with Her on Dallas Tour Stop
For students at Lindale High School in Lindale, Texas, it's pretty cool knowing country star Miranda Lambert is an alumna. What's even cooler? Being invited to perform on stage with the artist in Dallas, Texas.
Such was the case for some hardworking choir students at Lindale High School for Lambert's tour stop in Dallas this past Saturday. As Tyler, Texas' KLTV recently reported, Lambert invited her alma mater's choir members to join her on-stage during her Wildcard tour supporting the eponymous album. For the youngsters' performance, they sang "Tin Man" off her Lambert's 2016 album The Weight of These Wings.
On Instagram, the singer shared her excitement over her recent concerts, along with a nod of appreciation for the Lindale High School Choir. "Such a great weekend Kansas City, Tulsa and Dallas! Thank to everyone for coming to see @randyrogersband , @parkermccollum and us on the #wildcardtour. Also big thanks to the Lindale High School Choir for joining me at the @americanairlinesarena for such a special moment!" she wrote, alongside a group of photos and a video in the last slide showing the choir rehearsing with her.
So how'd this incredible rendition of "Tin Man" come to be? Turns out, it was Lambert's doing. “Ms. Lambert reached out to the Lindale administration inviting members of the high school choir to collaborate with her on her Dallas concert,” Kerry Baham, the Director of Choirs for the Lindale Independent School District, told CMT.com, who added that in total there were 22 singers from the choir on-stage with Lambert for the show.
A Lambert fan account shared a repost of videos of the moving concert performance, the students' airy vocals backing up Lambert's signature, assertive voice as the star strums her acoustic guitar. Check the clips out below.

If you're yet to catch Lambert on tour yet, the Wildcard tour continues in America and Canada through this May. While the Southern leg of the tour has now wrapped, Lambert will be back in our region of the country to headline Tortuga Music Festival in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on April 17 (other headliners for the festival are Luke Bryan and Tim McGraw).
Have you caught Lambert yet on the road? We're absolutely loving the way she paid it forward as an alum of Lindale High School and only wish we could have caught that very goosebumps-inducing performance live.
