There’s a New Way to Get Around at Walt Disney World—And You’re Going to Love the Hilarious Name
Move over, Uber!
Disney Parks, in conjunction with Lyft, announced its new transportation pilot on Monday, July 31, for guests staying at the BoardWalk Resort and Yacht & Beach Club Resorts—and brace yourselves, it's a real doozy. Buckle up and get ready to ride around in style this summer in the flashy "Minnie Van."
Each service van's exterior is appropriately painted to match Minnie Mouse's signature cherry-red, polka dot dress. The vans can hold up to six passengers, and they each come with two car seats to accommodate even the smallest of guests.
Not only will the cars transport Disney-goers to any destination within the resorts in Orlando, Florida, but the Minnie Vans will be driven by cast members wearing full-body costume—sans the giant head gear to maintain a clear sightline, of course. That means you may be picked up by someone resembling Goofy, Mickey Mouse, Belle, or Cinderella, much to your child's delight.
"Playing a part in a family's experience at the most magical place on earth is a dream come true," said John Zimmer, co-founder and President of Lyft, in a statement released on Monday.
