There goes our Saturday night plans.
Are you obsessed with cooking competition shows? Is a Hallmark movie the fastest way to make your heart swoon? Then do we have a match made in couch-and-popcorn heaven.
This Saturday, March 2nd at 8/7c, the Hallmark channel will premiere a new romantic comedy, Just Add Romance, that centers around two culinary school classmates who are reunited three years later on a TV cooking competition for a chance to win their own restaurant.
Starring Meghann Fahy and Luke Macfarlane, the two-hour original movie will have you on the edge of your seat as you watch their relationship unfold alongside plenty of truffles and raviolis. Watch the official preview below.
In a company press release, the Hallmark Channel also revealed a bit more about the plot (spoiler alert!): "Overcoming one cooking challenge after another, Carly and Jason not only defeat the other four contestants to become the remaining two finalists, but also learn that while they might have different cooking techniques – she's more focused on creativity and he's all about an organized kitchen – they still have a great deal in common," the statement reads. "Both have cooking in their genes as Carly's father is a well-known celebrity chef and Jason's father owned a successful diner for 35 years. Both are driven to make their fathers proud, and both have always fantasized about opening their own restaurants. Now, with their restaurateur dreams about to collide in the final showdown, the network brings back the four contestants who already lost to serve as sous chefs for Carly and Jason as they vie to be the last chef standing."
