Just when we thought we’d reached peak Texas with yesterday’s Buc-ee’s prom photos, we got word that state treasure Matthew McConaughey recently made a surprise appearance at a Whataburger drive-thru in San Angelo. The 49-year-old even humored the staff with photos and an impromptu delivery of his most famous line.

"We asked if he was Matthew McConaughey and he said he was his brother!” Brooklynn Deanne Oden, who works at the Whataburger, told KTXS.  “So, we started talking to him some more and he finally says 'y'all don't still think I'm his brother, do you?'"

The Texas-native even offered to take pictures and say his signature catchphrase.

"He told me he would say 'alright, alright, alright' if we got his food right,” Oden recalled. “So, we triple checked it!”

McConaughey made good on his word and delivered his catchphrase before driving away in his SUV.

Oden shared a video of the interaction, including the moment the Oscar-winner quietly said “alright, alright, alright,” on Facebook.

“He was super cool even tho [SIC] all of us were freaking out lol,” she wrote.

Now that’s what you call a true gentleman!
