We all know the feeling: You're already running ten minutes late for a meeting or dinner, but your nails aren't dry. You're not about to chip your new periwinkle or lilac spring nail polish. But you also can't keep your boss waiting or your friends placing bets on how much longer you are.

What's a lacquer-lovin' gal to do? Turns out, there's a simple trick for drying your nails when you're in a pinch. As Reader's Digest recently pointed out in an article titled "9 Beauty Hacks for When You're Running Late," all you need is some ice cubes and water. In the piece, Jeanette Zinno, beauty expert and blogger is quoted: "Soak your freshly-painted nails in a bowl of ice water for a minute; the cold will dry them quickly. Make sure you have the bowl ready before you paint your nails so you don't mess them up!" Yes, it's really that simple. Presto-chango, and off to dinner you go. Now, if only we had a trick for selecting what color eyeshadow to pair with our new floral dress.
