WATCH: Little Girl with Inoperable Brain Tumor Gets Wish to Swim with Mermaids in Florida
Five-year-old Ta'liyah Baldwin wanted to "be a mermaid near the ocean where Moana lives."
One very special Memphis youngster recently got the experience of a lifetime thanks to two real-life mermaids.
Five-year-old Ta'liyah Baldwin, who suffers from an inoperable brain tumor, has already dealt with a lot in her young life. The brave little girl has always been fascinated with mermaids, and when she revealed that her greatest wish was to "be a mermaid near the ocean where Moana lives," Make-A-Wish Mid-South stepped in to provide her with her dream day.
To pull off her underwater dream, Make-A-Wish Mid-South partnered with Make-A-Wish Southern Florida to bring Ta'liyah and her family to "where Moana lives," which in this case, turned out to be Boca Raton, Florida.
"Just the thought of swimming with mermaids was enough to get her through chemotherapy and radiation treatments," Make-A-Wish Southern Florida shared in a news release.
And this past weekend, her wish finally came true. Ta'liyah and her family strolled along the beach before the mermaids invited her to join their world, offering tail and swimming lessons in the hotel pool.
To cap off her dream day, Ta'liyah and her new friends enjoyed pizza and cake by the pool.
It just goes to show you how something so small can mean so much.
